Hindhead Tunnel Case Study

Since 2007 a new twin bore dual carriageways tunnel has been in construction to relieve the major traffic pressures from London to Portsmouth on the A3 at Hindhead. This tunnel is approximately 1.2 miles long and is the longest non estuary tunnel to be built in the country and passes under the Devil's Punch Bowl Site of Special Scientific Interest.

FOC won the contract to supply, terminate and test the fibre optic network that runs from end-to-end providing an array of links for a multitude of the communications and CCTV equipment.
